Slavik made it to the big final with ease, Wichman crashed in the semis but managed to cross the line in second place. They were up against Rinderknecht and Graf, both from Switzerland. Graves missed his start in the semi and had to battle for 5th place in the small final.
Joosts start was outstanding, taking the lead and holding off several moves of the others. Everything went smoothly and it looked like his 4th World Cup victory was just a matter of time. But it went wrong in the rock-section. He went over the bars pretty hard.
Goodbye victory. And it got even worse because his bike flew a few metres across the track and took down teammate Tomas Slavik. So it wasn't meant to be in Scotland but in this shape we are certain a R.S.P. member wil be leading a big final again in the near future.
